Stem Cell Registry-2022

The event was held on the college campus at nirvana on 24 March 2022. As the event of collecting samples involved many steps and the event is planned from morning 10 am to 4 pm it needed volunteers hence we approached our peers for volunteer and got some volunteers. The Leo members and volunteers made required arrangements for the event like campaigning, infrastructure, and other necessary arrangements.

The registry event went in 3 steps firstly the orientation, swab collection from students, and finally storing it hygienically. The orientation is taken from the NGO volunteers where very clear information is given about the importance of donating the stem cell to a blood cancer patient. It is also informed clearly that the donation of stem cells is only done after the match is found and the steps involved in the collecting of stem cells.

Next, they are sent to collect the samples where the students are advised to step by step for samples collection then it is placed inside the pouches provided by the NGO according to the instructions hygienically. The acknowledgment of registering the sample with the reference I’d number is given to the Student who successfully registered for stem cell donation.

A total of 147 students successfully registered in the event organized and samples are hygienically collected as per the instructions, all the information collected is verified and NGO volunteers are satisfied and appreciated the coordination of all the students, members, and volunteers.
