On the 2nd of April, Sunday the Leo club had organized a visit to Christu Seva Samaj old age home located at Queens road. It is a small home housing 40 elderly people. The main intention behind this visit was to inspect the place and help the people staying there in renovating the place as required.
This initiative started off as an open challenge given to the club by Captain Shiv Subramanyam during his speech at the Leo charter ceremony, where he mentioned about an old age home at old Queens road and asked us to take it up as a challenge to renovate this place and do the required to make it a better place to live in.

The club members took up this challenge with great zeal and decided to first visit the place to figure out what had to be done to restore it. We reached the old age home by 2pm as planned on a Sunday and found everyone eagerly waiting for us. We approached the residents and interacted with each of them as we would with our grandparents. With broad smiles they asked us to sit beside them and spoke their hearts out with so much longing to share about their life experiences, problems and how happy they were to meet children like us.

We had a look in and around the premises of the old age home and found that a lot of work had to be done. Upon inspection we decided that it was of utmost importance to first install fans and mosquito nets in the place, we decided that we would do the renovation of the old age home in steps and this was to be our first step. We commenced our visit with a short prayer done by all the inmates of the house and left the place with immense joy in our hearts and a promise to return back to make this place a better home for them to live in.
