Visit to Swanthana
On the 2nd of October the Leo club planned a visit to Swanthana , A home for differently abled children. The place is run by the sisters of St. Camillus and is in sarjapura road. It houses close to 80 children. The members form the club reached the location at 3pm. Twisted arms, legs, eyes searching for something and a head struggling to find its balance on the neck Call out their names and a make a friendly gesture to them and they erupt into laughter which does not cease for a while. This was the sight that greeted us.
The sister in charge took us around the place and introduced us to all the children. We then proceeded to the play area where we interacted with the children. We taught the children how to make paper boats. The children also sang a few songs. We taught them how to draw things like butterflies, lotuses. The members also had a good time getting to know each child , making them laugh and seeing them happy made our day.
Before leaving we donated 25Kg of rice, 10Kg of Dal and 5Kg of Sugar to the home. We left with a few pictures but many memories and promises of returning.
