Organized by: NSS Club, New Horizon College of Engineering.
Date: 26th September 2026
Venue: ALAI Rescue, Marenahalli, Bengaluru
The NSS Club, in collaboration with the Sargam Team, visited ALAI Rescue as part of the promotional activities for Sargam 2026. Sargam is the annual inter-collegiate cultural fest of the New Horizon Educational Institution, and the 2026 edition is themed “MAHADEVI.” The visit provided an opportunity for the student teams to take the promotion of the fest beyond the college campus while also engaging with an animal welfare setting.
ALAI, which stands for Animal Lives Are Important, is an animal rescue and rehabilitation shelter in Bengaluru established in May 2017. The organization works with sick, injured, elderly, and differently abled street animals and provides rescue, medical care, rehabilitation, and rehoming support. Its facility accommodates a variety of large and small animals.
The lively atmosphere encouraged everyone to participate with enthusiasm and curiosity. Students took the opportunity to step outside the usual campus setting, engage with their surroundings, and capture memorable moments along the way. The experience brought together teamwork, spontaneity, and a sense of responsibility, making the day both enjoyable and purposeful.
The Sargam Team documented moments from the visit while the NSS members participated in the outreach activity. The collaboration between the NSS Club members and the Sargam Team helped combine promotional efforts with visual documentation of the experience. The visit was an engaging experience for the students, combining Sargam promotional outreach with an opportunity to learn about animal rescue and rehabilitation. Interacting with the rescued animals and observing the work carried out at ALAI made the visit meaningful for the participating members.
Overall, the activity reflected the collaborative efforts of the NSS Club with the Sargam Team while adding a distinctive and socially meaningful setting to the promotional activities for Sargam 2026. Meeting the people at ALAI and seeing the rescued animals first-hand added a different dimension to the activity. The day also brought together the efforts of the NSS with the Sargam Team, making the outreach both productive and memorable for everyone involved.
