“To create lasting change in the lives of people of the village(s) with
special focus on disadvantaged groups by Sustainable and inclusive
growth, with adequate opportunity for every person to lead a useful
and productive life to his or her full potential”. “Village Adoption
means to work along with the community at the grass root level,
while enabling / empowering them for pursuing the goal of
development of the village in line with the Sustainable Development
Goals and learning as to what works and what doesn’t and evolve a
model of village development for replication and trainings”.
Introduction
The Village Adoption survey provides students an opportunity to
understand the factors that are responsible for under-development
in a village, despite plethora of programmes / schemes in vogue.
Objectives of NSS CLUB
 To inspire the rural communities to dream, plan, mobilize
forces and resources for sustainable development of each
member who can realize his/her full potential and create such
ecosystem for positive behavioral transformation.
 To seek positive transformation and to engender progressive
changes in the communities through alternative development
models that is participatory, sustainable and inclusive.
 To empower marginalized and vulnerable groups in the village
particularly the elderly, the women, the youth and the children
of the community.
 Availability and accessibility of basic amenities and services
and achieving Sustainable Development Goals.
 To generate awareness on gender issues and social issues like
literacy, health & hygiene, sanitation, safe drinking water,
livelihood options etc.
Survey of CHEEMASANDRA Village
Areas of Survey done are as follows

1. Primary Education
2. Community Health
3. Hygiene
4. Drinking Water
5. Solar Facility
6. Environmental and Other Issues
As observed by the team visited the Cheemasandra village is not an
under developed village as noted.
The primary area where the development has to happen is in the
area of Primary Education.
The Govt School of Cheemasandra Operates for Nursery to 5th Std,
the school has a strength of 150 students.
The Requirements of the school are as follows:-

area must be covered with the cement blocks.
VI. Need of adequate supply of stationary for the children.
VII. Educational toys for nursery children who are admitted under
“KALI NALI” scheme.

The Requirements of the Village
I. Replacement of Old RCC electric poles.
II. High Mask Light.
III. Water Filters must be installed (required no of filters are 3).
IV. Street lights (required no = 50).
V. Solar lights (20).
VI. The Drainage System must be closed using cement blocks.
