Theme: The Rudra Factor

SARGAM 2022,the state-level eagerly awaited cultural fest, hosted by New Horizon Educational Institution resumed after two long years with the theme ‘The Rudra Factor’– ‘the captivating energy and glorious power’ to reveal the genius in each participant. Organized on the 25th and 26th of November 2022 at the New Horizon College of Engineering campus, it saw a footfall of close to 15k students from 180 institutions, both PUC and Degree colleges.

SARGAM- 2022 got to a ceremonial start with the inauguration by the Chief Guest Mr. Srinivasan Arunachalam, Group President of Steer Engineering, and Guest of Honour Kalanidhi Vidhusi Mrs. Jyothi M. Chetan. The souvenir release was truly an unmatched one,where a handmade lotus model opened its petals to bring up the colorfully printed books.The icing on this is the pride that it was designed and executed exclusively by first-year Engineering students. The event “SARGAM- 2022” was officially declared open by Mrs. Kirthi Manghnani, Executive Director, New Horizon International School.

The lush green campus was transformed into a space of festivity and color, with Shiva and Rudra-related banners, posters, standees, artwork, billboards, and plenty of selfie spots for the Gen Z to stack up their Instagram and other social media handles.The images of the five eternal energy principles of Srishti (creation), Sthithi (preservation), Samhara (destruction), Tirodhana (illusion), and Anugraha (grace)adorned the campus establishing a strong presence of the Rudra Factor and power of Shiva.

The Title sponsor of Sargam 2022 was PUMA and Co-Sponsor was Indian Bank. There were many event sponsors too, and all of them had exclusive canopies to showcase and promote their products. The food spread stole the crowd spoiling them for choice with an array of options,ranging from short eats to desserts,to the main course offering a wide variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes.The food enthusiasts had a heyday feasting on sumptuous, delectable, and mouth-watering spread of gourmet fusion delights.

The major attraction of Sargam 2022 was the Mega Event, the theme “TANDAV”, which witnessed highly energetic and powerful dance performances from various colleges. Dances represented the cosmic cycle of creation and destruction as represented by Lord Shiva’s cosmic dance, Tandav. The extravagant props and costumes added to the intensity of the dances.

New Horizon College, Kasturinagar, emerged as the winner of the mega event TANDAV and was awarded a cash prize of Rs.1,00,000/-, New Horizon College of Engineeringwonthe second place and was awarded 50,000/- and 3rd place was shared by Christ College Bannerghatta and New Horizon College, Marathalli with a cash prize of Rs. 25,000/- each.

The events were divided into Mega, 4 stars,3 stars, 2-star, and single-star events, and prize money varied accordingly. 4-star events (Filmy Dance, Contemporary, and Street dance) had good registrations from different colleges carrying acash prize of 25,000, 20000, and 15000 as first prize, second prize, and third prize respectively.

Other Events in “Sargam2022” werethree-star events –(Stage Play and Acapella). The two-star event(Trailer making) and one-star events (B-Boying, Mono Acting, Brushless Painting, Sneaker Doodle, Sur-Sangam, MC Battle, Poetry Slam, Gaming [FIFA, COD, NFS], Illusion,The Next Top Model, Rock Battle (Hindi/English/fusion), Sargam’s Got Talent,& Turn Coat).The total prize money for all events in total amounted toRs. 7,00,00/-.

Exciting workshops at SARGAM!

Sargam 22 opened the doors to all the attendees of the fest to attend fun and educative workshops complimentary! The session on Crypto Currencywas delivered by our alumni Mr. Budhil Vyas, Data Science engineer, Expert in Crypto, Metaverse by Mr. Rabindra Sah, Chief Engineer, at Tata Technologies. The salsa and Shuffle workshop by Salsa Master Mr. Karthik and Shuffle Master Mr. Zuboo.

Juke Box offered an opportunity to all the students from various colleges to unleash their passion for expression through dance. DJ Vipul Khurana entertained the crowd on 25th November 2022, between 4.30 pm to 6.00 pm.

Sargam 2022 curtains were brought down with a splendiferous DJ night by Lost Stories. This event attracted a huge number of spectators from the IT industry, alumni of New Horizon Educational Institution, and students from many other colleges in Karnataka.

All the excitement, thrill, high-spirited energy, and enthusiasm that had characterized the month-long planning and preparation leading up to the Mega State Level Inter-CollegiateCultural Fest “Sargam2022” came to a grand culmination on the evening of November 26, 2022. This expertly orchestrated and perfectly executed spectacle is the King of BangaloreCollege Events. The uniqueness of this unparalleled and incomparable show was,it being an entirely “by the students, for the students, and of the students” show.The number of attendees for this event was about 15000+ from 180 colleges across Karnataka.

New Horizon College, Kasturinagar, stole the show emerging as the Overall champion in “SARGAM 2022”. Dr, Mohan Manghnani, Chairman of New Horizon Educational Institutions presented the overall Trophy to the winning team and lauded the enthusiastic participation of all colleges with their stellar performances.
