Aircrash is a captivating and entertaining event hosted by the Literary Club of NHCE on the 7
th of June
in the Tejas seminar hall, commencing at 11:00 AM. The event showcased students manifesting traits
of various fictional and non-fictional entities with a common motive of securing the last parachute.
Aditya PV event co-ordinator and Anagha N event emcee for the day, commenced the event by
welcoming the audience and outlining the rules. The team and participants were joined by the
esteemed judge and founder of the fest INITIUM, Mr Ateeq, who was tasked to evaluate the
performances of the characters/participants, A total of 20 participants enacting characters ranging
from renowned celebrities to lively cartoons competed in a fierce battle of words to determine the
supreme survivor of the crashing plane over the course of 3 rounds. A mixture of character traits
with participants’ wits attracted a large crowd, filling the seminar hall with enthusiastic spectators.

Cosplay
EVENT NAME: COSPLAY
ORGANIZING CLUB: LITERARY CLUB

RETRO RENDEZVOUS

The Literary Club organized an exciting Cosplay event at the open stage, starting at 1:45 PM.
This event aimed to celebrate retro fashion and creativity, offering participants a chance to
showcase their unique interpretations of past styles. Emcees Aadiseshan and Harshit kicked off
the event by welcoming the audience, explaining the rules, and introducing the judge, Ms.
Pragati Sahoo.
A total of 11 participants embraced the retro theme with enthusiasm and creativity, presenting a
variety of costumes and props that harkened back to previous decades. Participants donned
iconic retro clothing such as bell bottoms, puffy hairstyles, and classic hats. Sweaters and other
vintage apparel added to the nostalgic atmosphere.
Many participants incorporated props like old-fashioned radios, enhancing their characters and
adding authenticity to their costumes.
The mix of nostalgic costumes and engaging presentations kept the audience captivated
throughout the event. The event concluded at 3:00 PM, after an hour and fifteen minutes of
captivating displays of retro fashion and creativity.

DECLAMATION

EVENT NAME: Declamation
ORGANIZING CLUB: LITERARY CLUB

ECHOES OF ERAS

The Literary Club organized a thought provoking event at the Chanakya Seminar Hall, starting at
1:30 PM.
This event celebrated the passionate speeches of Retro personalities, where the participants
delivered excellent speeches showcasing their oratory skills.
Emcee Anish kicked off the event by welcoming the audience, explaining the rules, and
introducing the judge, Ms. Indrani Medhi.
A total of 10 participants came up on to their stage and captivated the audience with their
brilliant speeches. The participants stepped into the shoes of retro characters like John F
Kennedy to Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam. The audience was completely entertained with the voice
modulation and confidence, that the participants embraced on stage. After all the participants
put forth their best foot forward, the judge, Ms.Indrani enlightened the audience with her words
of wisdom.
The event concluded at 3.00p.m. after 1.5 hours of brilliant speeches, back to back, by our
excellent orators.

The Literary Club organized an exciting event at the Tejas Seminar Hall, starting at 1:30 PM. 

This event was a lively game show where the teams were required to answer the questions swiftly, outsmarting rivals

Quiz Master Chiranth kick started the event by welcoming the audience, participants and explaining the rules.

A total of 20 teams and 40 participants came together for a fun-filled afternoon. The teams participated in the quiz in a 2v2 format and were marked based on answering correctly and swiftly. The teams were shortlisted based on their points and moved to the subsequent rounds accordingly.

The event concluded at 4.00p.m. after 2.5 hours of laughter and friendly competition.

VINTAGE SHOWDOWN

The Literary Club hosted a vibrant and engaging Open Mic event on the open stage, starting at
11:00 AM. The event aimed to provide a platform for creative expression and showcased a variety
of talents from participants. Abhijna and Harshit, the emcees for the day, commenced the event
by welcoming the audience and outlining the rules. They also introduced the esteemed judges,
Ms.Pragati Sahoo and Mr. Mukund Chander, who were tasked with evaluating the performances.
A total of 21 participants took to the stage, each bringing their unique flair and talent. The
performances spanned across several genres, including:singing, standup comedy, rapping,
beatbox and poetry in multiple languages.
The event attracted a large crowd, filling the open stage area with enthusiastic spectators and
highlighted the talent within the community, providing a platform for artistic expression and
fostering a sense of camaraderie among participants and the audience alike.

EVENT NAME:  Chamber of the people (Parliamentary debate)

On the 7th of June, as part of the Initium festival, a dynamic parliamentary debate competition was conducted. This event attracted widespread participation from students across NHEI and various other colleges, showcasing a vibrant and diverse array of viewpoints.

The debate was judged by two distinguished individuals: a law student and a student from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM). Their expertise added a layer of depth and rigor to the evaluation process, ensuring that the participants received insightful and constructive feedback.

Throughout the day, the event was marked by intense and passionate debates. Students tackled a wide range of topics, spanning from politics to economics. Each debate session saw participants presenting well-researched arguments, countering their opponents with sharp rebuttals, and demonstrating exceptional public speaking skills.

The topics discussed were timely and relevant, reflecting current global and national issues. This not only tested the participant’s knowledge but also their ability to think critically and articulate their thoughts under pressure. The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm as students engaged in fiery exchanges, defending their positions with conviction and poise.

The parliamentary debate competition was not just a platform for intellectual exchange but also a celebration of the art of debate itself. It fostered a spirit of healthy competition, encouraging students to push their boundaries and excel in the art of persuasion. Event: Group Singing – “Treble Makers”

The “Group Singing” event, titled “Treble Makers,” was one of the most anticipated
highlights of the Initium Literary Fest 2024, held on the 7th of June. With the
enchanting theme of “Retro,” the event promised a nostalgic musical journey and did
not disappoint.
Groups from various colleges participated, each delivering medleys of songs that
spanned a wide range of complexities and demonstrated immense talent. The
performances were a mix of harmonious melodies, intricate vocal arrangements, and
captivating stage presence, all resonating with the retro theme.
The group from BMSCE secured the runner-up position with their skillful execution of
a challenging medley. Their performance was a testament to their technical prowess
and ability to blend harmonies seamlessly, which impressed both the judge and the
audience.
However, the competition for first place was intense. Ultimately, the top honour was
awarded to the “Aarohan” group from CMRIT. Their original composition, a patriotic
melodic song, stood out for its originality and emotional depth. The group’s
performance not only aligned perfectly with the retro theme but also added a unique
and contemporary twist, showcasing their creativity and dedication.
The “Treble Makers” event was a resounding success, highlighting the versatility and
talent of the participating groups. The medleys performed brought the retro theme to
life, reminding everyone of the timeless beauty of classical music while also
celebrating the innovative spirit of today’s young musicians.
In conclusion, the Group Singing event at Initium Literary Fest 2024 was an inspiring

Event: Solo Instrumental – “Game Of Tones”

“Game Of Tones”, the “Solo Instrumental” event, was a highlight of the Initium
Literary Fest 2024, which was held on the 7th of June with the captivating theme of
“Retro.” This theme inspired participants to draw upon the rich and diverse musical
styles of the past, resulting in a nostalgic yet vibrant celebration of instrumental
music.
The event saw a remarkable turnout, with participants showcasing a variety of
instruments. The lineup included guitarists, keyboardists, pianists, and violinists,
each bringing their unique flavour to the retro theme. The performances ranged from
beginners demonstrating their burgeoning skills to seasoned instrumentalists
delivering polished and intricate pieces.
The atmosphere was electrifying, with every performance reflecting a deep respect
for the retro theme while allowing the artists to inject their personal style and
creativity. The audience was treated to a spectrum of musical genres, from classic
rock and roll on the electric guitar to soulful and melodic piano renditions.
The competition was fierce, but the standout performance came from Kanishk of
NHCE, whose keyboard performance earned him the first place. His mastery over
the instrument, coupled with his ability to evoke the retro spirit, captivated both the
judges and the audience. The runner-up was Varun from MVJCE, who also played
the keyboard. Varun’s performance was equally impressive, showcasing technical
proficiency and emotional depth that resonated with the theme of the event.
Both winners demonstrated exceptional talent and a deep understanding of the retro
genre, making their performances unforgettable highlights of the festival. The event
was a resounding success, celebrating the timeless appeal of instrumental music
and the enduring influence of retro styles.
Overall, the Solo Instrumental event at Initium Literary Fest 2024 not only provided a
platform for musicians to showcase their talents but also reinforced the importance of
musical heritage, making it a memorable and inspiring occasion for all who attended.


Event name: Painting 

Date: 07th June, 2024 

Organising club: Art Club 

Timings: 11:00am to 2:30pm 

Venue: Umbrella Canteen 

Art Charades 

The Art Club organized this event as part of INITIUM’24, involving teams of two participants each. A total of 11 teams registered and attended the event. One teammate was shown a picture for three minutes, then described it to the other teammate, who painted the image based on the description. After an hour, the picture was shown again for three minutes, and the teammate provided further explanation to refine the painting. This activity aimed to enhance communication and memory skills, while fostering creativity.
