Blood donation camp

On the 3rd of November 2017, on the occasion of rajyotsava celebration in college, the Leo club in collaboration with the NSS club organized a blood donation camp at the New Horizon College of Engineering campus.The Lions club blood bank and the NIMHANS blood bank were present on the spot.

A day prior to the event members from the club and a few doctors from the blood bank campaigned from class to class and raised awareness about blood donation in the college.

Students from all semesters came forward to donate blood. Every donor was required to fill out a form which assessed if they were healthy donors or not.Donors were also required to undergo a small health check before the blood donation process.Only healthy donors were allowed to donate blood. Donors were given refreshments and a certificate from the respective blood banks.Members of the Leo club who volunteered donated blood at the end of the day. The blood collected from each donor was properly labeled, categorized and safely stored.

At the end of the day both the blood banks together had collected 270 units of blood.
