GROW GREEN [PLANTATION AND CLEANLINESS CAMPAIGN]
EVENT REPORT
OBJECTIVE: To raise environmental awareness, promote cleanliness, and contribute to the cleanliness of the community around Jakkur Lake, by volunteering and actively participating in the planned activities.

EVENT DESCRIPTION:
On May 24th 2023, the Green Warriors club successfully conducted the GROW GREEN Cleanliness Drive and Plantation Campaign. The event took place in the vicinity of Jakkur Lake, in collaboration with ‘Jalaposhan’, an organisation working for the maintenance and welfare of the lake. 53 enthusiastic volunteers from NHCE including the members of Green Warriors actively participated in the cleanliness drive and plantation activities.
The event commenced with an address by Nidhi, a manager at Jalaposhan, who instructed all the volunteers about the proceedings of the event and more about the organisation. Then began the cleanliness campaign around the perimeter of Jakkur Lake. The participants were equipped with gloves, garbage bags, and other necessary tools and collected large amounts of dry waste from the area. Around 65 KG of dry waste was collected in total. The volunteers showcased great teamwork and dedication, meticulously cleaning up the surroundings.
The cleanliness campaign was followed by a plantation drive. Under the guidance of experts from Jalaposhan, the volunteers carefully planted indigenous saplings in the surroundings of the lake and were educated about the correct way to do planting.
CONCLUSION:
Overall, the event was successful in its objective to raise environmental awareness, promote cleanliness, and contribute to the greenery of our community. Students will also receive the most sought-after AICTE activity
points required in the course of their engineering through this campaign. The campaign received an overwhelming response and a feeling of environmental consciousness within the volunteers. This compels the Green Warriors club to host many more such events in the future to collectively benefit our society at large.
