On the 2nd of November, 2017 the Green Warriors Club organised their first event ‘FOOTPRINT’ at the New Horizon College of Engineering campus.

The event consisted of 3 competitions I.e, essay writing, poster making and an awareness act competition. Essay writing was named as The Voice of Silence, where the participants were given three topics and could choose any one and write their thoughts on paper. The essay writing competition had an unexpected turn out of about 100 participants and took place at the basement library. .

Poster making competition was named Novateur in which again the participants were given two topics out of which they choose their own and recreate their imagination as posters. This event was conducted in groups and there were a total of 9 groups and was conducted in the reading hall.

Finally the Awareness act named as Cognisance took place at Nirvana had a total of 15 participants. This competition had groups and individual participants, the participants were given a topic of ‘Save Trees’ and they had to either enact it out through a skit, mime or play or could even recite a poem or portray the act through dance.

All the events started by 1:30 pm in the afternoon and was smoothly taken over by the committee members and was successfully completed by 4:00 pm.

The assistant professors of Biotechnology Engineering department and Electrical and Electronic Engineering department, Ms. Asha B M and Ms. Sujitha were invited to judge the events. The judges interacted with the students on their presentation, creativity and performance. The winners were announced for their best performance.

The participants were later handed with certificate of appreciation. The entire event was a big hit and was a very enriching experience for all the students where each of them were able to recreate their imagination by using pens, colours and also by acting it out.
