RAKTA SUTRA – SJU VISAGES 26’

The fashion show competition held at St. Joseph’s University (SJU) on 24th February was a vibrant and memorable event that brought together creativity, culture, and student talent from various colleges. Among the many participating teams, the NHCE Fashion Team stood out with their powerful and emotionally driven theme titled “Rakta Sutra”.

THEME CONCEPT – RAKTA SUTRA

“Rakta Sutra”, meaning the blood thread, symbolized connection, sacrifice, strength, and the deep bonds that tie individuals, cultures, and generations together. This concept formed the core idea behind the team’s presentation and storytelling on stage.

COLOUR SYMBOLISM

The theme was beautifully represented through the colors red, white, and gold, each carrying strong symbolic meaning:

• Red represented blood, passion, and sacrifice.

• White symbolized purity, peace, and balance.

• Gold reflected heritage, power, and divinity.

These colours helped visually express the emotional depth of the theme.

COSTUME DESIGN AND STYLING

Each outfit in the collection told its own story while remaining connected to the overall theme. The designs combined traditional elements with modern fashion, creating a visually striking and meaningful presentation. The detailing on fabrics, accessories, headpieces, and makeup reflected the creativity, dedication, and effort of the team.
