India faced wars many a time. Many sons of the soil lost their lives in their struggle to protect the country. Many parents lost their children and many wives lost their husbands. Some warriors lost their lives and some were left handicapped due to the war. Sometimes words of honor are just not enough. We need to show in our actions the respect and gratitude that we have for our Great War Heroes. Veer Vandana is one such initiative by New Horizon Education Institution to commemorate the valor and gallantry of War Heroes who sacrificed their lives to enable all of us to live in peace.
Veer Vandana is scheduled on 10 th Sept., 2016 at 4:30pm which is Day 1 of SARGAM. Major General K.S. Nijjar, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Karnataka and Kerala Sub Area, and Naib Subedar Sanjay Kumar, Param Vir Chakra awardee will grace the occasion, through which New Horizon will salute the great Indian Heroes by reminiscing the sacrifices and valor of gallant soldiers of the Indian Military. New Horizon will felicitate the family members of martyrs like Lt. Col. Bhandarkar and Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan as a mark of respect. New Horizon will also pay its due respects to the martyrs by felicitating “VEER NARIS” of the Indian Army whose husbands became martyrs during various operations conducted by Indian Army.
