Stem X Borderland- A STEM event based on the show “Alice in Borderland”

The STEM Club hosted an exciting, immersive event inspired by the popular series Alice in Borderland, blending the thrill of strategic challenges with hands-on STEM learning. The entire experience was designed to push participants beyond their comfort zones and test a wide range of skills, including physical ability, teamwork, logic, and trust — all wrapped in an adventurous, game-themed format.

A total of 20 teams participated, entering a gamified world where each round represented a different style of STEM-based challenge. Round 1 was structured as four separate zones, each inspired by a suit from the Alice in Borderland universe and mapped to a STEM skill category. Five teams competed in each zone.

1. Physical Zone —This round tested agility, coordination, basic physics principles, and quick problem-solving under pressure.

2. Teamwork Zone —This challenge focused entirely on cooperative problem-solving with effective communication, synchronization, and division of roles to complete a bridge made using only popsicle sticks, tape, and glue guns.

3. Logical Zone — This round brought out the thinkers. Teams were given logic-heavy puzzles, number-based riddles, pattern recognition problems, and quick analytical tasks. Every challenge required conceptual reasoning and the ability to stay calm under time limits.

4. Trust Zone —Teams engaged in activities where one member relied entirely on instructions, guidance, or decisions from their teammates. Tasks included blindfold-based direction challenges, controlled builds, and precision activities where trust determined success.

ROUND 2 — Find X. The four winning teams from Round 1 advanced to the finale — a thrilling treasure hunt designed around the concept of finding “X,” the unknown, symbolising discovery and problem-solving in STEM. And then, a cash prize of 3000 was given to the winning team.Overall, the event was a huge success, with excitement, learning, and creativity. Each challenge brought out a different STEM skill, allowing participants to explore their strengths and discover new abilities.

A thrilling hunt where the four winning teams decode STEM clues, follow directional puzzles, and complete mini-tasks to find the hidden “X.”

This event provided an excellent platform for students to engage in extracurricular activities, build confidence, and form new friendships, marking a lively start to their college journey.
