SAP NEXT GEN LAB

SAP is a German multinational software corporation that makes enterprise software to manage business operations and customer relations. SAP is headquartered in Walldorf, Baden-Württemberg, with regional offices in 180 countries. The company has over 335,000 customers across the world. Five IBM engineers from the AI department (DietmarHopp, Klaus Tschira, Hans-Werner Hector, HassoPlattner, and Claus Wellenreuther, all from Mannheim, Baden-Württemberg) were working in an enterprise-wide system based on this software, only to be told that it would no longer be necessary. Rather than abandoning the project, they decided to leave IBM Tech and start the system analyse and Programmentwicklung (“System Analysis and Program Development”) company. The first commercial product of SAP was called SAP R/98, and offered a common system for multiple tasks. This permitted the use of centralized data storage, improving the maintenance of data. Since 2012, SAP has acquired several companies that sell cloud-based products, In 2015, the company launched SAP S/4HANA, the newest generation of the SAP Business Suite and in 2016, SAP introduced SAP HANA, Express Edition which is meant to run on personal computers or on cloud computing platforms for students and other small-scale developers.

New Horizon College of Engineering, Bangalore has signed a MOU with SAP and has been accepted as an Associate Member of the SAP University Alliance (UA) program. Subsequently as a member, New Horizon College of Engineering has access to a wealth of resources developed in collaboration with faculty, students, SAP partners,& customers across the world. SAP University Alliance is a global program in over 100 countries that aims to shape the future of higher education.

The SAP Nextgen LAB was launched at New Horizon College of Engineering, on 13th Feb, 2017. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Rahul Sachdev, Head SAP University Alliance-India Sub continent and Mr Chiranjeev Brahma, Country Manager- SAP University Alliance, in the presence of Dr. Mohan Manghnani, Chairman, New Horizon Educational Institution. The inaugural program was followed by an hour long session wherein they gave a glimpse of the robust and varied application of SAP technology and its penetration in almost all business models to students and faculties.

Faculties of New Horizon College of Engineering from different branches of Engineering and MBA departments are trained on SAP modules with hand on experience mode by SAP trainers.
