JOB MELA

On the 4th of June 2022, New Horizon College of Engineering, the Alumni Association, and the Department of Human Resources Development hosted a Job Mela on the NHCE campus. A Job Mela is an event where potential candidates can meet with companies, recruiters, and universities. On a single platform, they can connect with a variety of employers. There is also a lot of opportunity to network with people in the industry.

The program began at 9:00 a.m. with a welcome to all firm HR executives and job seekers. The occasion began with a melodic invocation song performed by the students, followed by the lighting of the lamp by the Dean-Quality Assurance, Dean-Alumni Association, Placement Head, and members of the Alumni Committee. The Dean-QA announced the Job Open, followed by the emcee’s announcement of the list of companies participating in the Job Mela. More than 900 students have enrolled online, with an additional 73 students having registered on the spot.

We had over 25 firms participate on the day of the event, providing career prospects to all attendees across all domains. We have around 300 job openings from the company, ranging from technical to non-technical positions, and so on. We had roughly 367 applicants/participants that came to our campus for the Job Mela and received a huge number of opportunities. We would also like to notify you that we had 80% horizonites and over 100 participants who were contacted for the next round of interviews, and some of them were also given opportunities during the job mela itself.

We would like to assure the college administration that we would continue to organise this employment mela every year, providing better possibilities to all candidates and creating a better platform that will assist everyone in finding their dream jobs.

It gives us great pleasure to report that the Job Mela 2022, which took place on the NHCE campus on June 4th, was a huge success. We’d want to express our gratitude to the college administration, the HRD department, and everyone else who contributed to making this event a huge success.
