The inaugural ceremony of the Computer Society of India, Student Chapter for the academic year 2019-20, took place on 23rd August, 2019. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Mr. Ritwik Batabyal, Chief of Engineering and Technology and Head of NextGen Business Products at Wipro who humbly accepted to be the Chief Guest.
The ceremony started with an invocation song presented by the choir. Dr. B Rajalakshmi, Head of Department, Computer Science and Engineering welcomed the gathering. The dignitaries then participated in the lighting of the lamp to formally start the event.
The new office bearers of the Student Chapter were introduced to the audience. Dr Prashant CSR, Dean of Academics then spoke about the emerging technologies and how the students should grasp them to be successful computer science engineers.
The presidential address was presented by our Principal, Dr Manjunatha who spoke about how students could learn new concepts via the mini projects included in the curriculum. This was followed by the key note address by Mr Ritwik Batabyal who spoke about the experience he received in the industry along with the various lessons he learnt in his journey to becoming the accomplished person he is today.
The vote of thanks was presented by Mr Rahul M Dinesh, Vice President of the CSI Student Chapter. The event concluded with the singing of the national anthem. The students of the CSE, ISE and MCA greatly benefited from the event.
