Kannada Rajyotsava 2024<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The 69th Kannada Rajyotsava and 52nd Karnataka Sambhrama celebrations at New Horizon College of Engineering on 6th November 2024 honoured Karnataka\u2019s formation with an engaging line-up of cultural events, traditional rituals, and laughter-filled moments. Esteemed guests Ms. Sudha Bargur, a renowned humourist and Kannada literary figure, and Mr. Mimicry Dayanand, the famed mimicry artist and comedian, graced the occasion, adding light-heartedness and humour to the day\u2019s events. Their unique contributions added a festive spirit to the celebration, enhancing the cultural experience for the attendees.<\/p>\n

\"\"The program began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries, symbolizing knowledge and the spirit of Karnataka. A floral offering to Karnataka Maathe (Mother Karnataka) followed, in honour of the state, and attendees joined in singing the Naada Geethe, Karnataka’s state anthem, instilling pride and unity. The cultural section commenced with a Kamsale dance performance by the MBA students, a traditional folk art that captivated the audience with its vibrant energy and rhythmic beats. Following this, the Principal of New Horizon College of Engineering formally welcomed the dignitaries, guests, and students in the presence of the Chairman of the institution. In his address, the Principal highlighted the significance of Kannada Rajyotsava, reminding the audience of the importance of preserving Karnataka\u2019s language, traditions, and values.<\/p>\n

\"\"A major highlight of the celebration was the humourfilled interactions and performances by Ms. Sudha <\/span>Bargur and Mr. Mimicry Dayanand, which delighted <\/span>the audience. Ms. Sudha Bargur, kn<\/span>own for her wit <\/span>and keen observations of everyday life, shared lighthearted anecdotes in Kannada that resonated with the <\/span>students and faculty alike. Her humorous take on <\/span>modern college life and the nuances of Kannada culture evoked laughter and added a warm, <\/span>relatable tone to the event.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Mr. Mimicry Dayanand brought the house down with his signature mimicry and comedy. His impressions of famous personalities, including well-known Kannada actors and political figures, were spot-on, drawing enthusiastic applause and laughter from the audience. He skilfully mixed humour with insights into Kannada cinema, effectively connecting with the crowd and creating an atmosphere of joy. His comedic timing and relatable jokes created an uplifting environment, reinforcing the celebratory mood of Kannada Rajyotsava.<\/p>\n

The event continued with a variety of cultural performances by students from New Horizon College of Engineering and New Horizon College, Marathalli. These included, Traditional dance performances that highlighted Karnataka\u2019s rich folk traditions, classical heritage, and evolving cultural expressions.
