{"id":240,"date":"2018-03-28T04:19:18","date_gmt":"2018-03-28T04:19:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newhorizonindia.edu\/extra-curricular\/nss\/?p=240"},"modified":"2018-03-28T04:19:35","modified_gmt":"2018-03-28T04:19:35","slug":"vision-of-a-model-village","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newhorizonindia.edu\/extra-curricular\/nss\/2018\/03\/28\/vision-of-a-model-village\/","title":{"rendered":"VISION OF A MODEL VILLAGE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cTo create lasting change in the lives of people of the village(s) with<br \/>\nspecial focus on disadvantaged groups by Sustainable and inclusive<br \/>\ngrowth, with adequate opportunity for every person to lead a useful<br \/>\nand productive life to his or her full potential\u201d. \u201cVillage Adoption<br \/>\nmeans to work along with the community at the grass root level,<br \/>\nwhile enabling \/ empowering them for pursuing the goal of<br \/>\ndevelopment of the village in line with the Sustainable Development<br \/>\nGoals and learning as to what works and what doesn\u2019t and evolve a<br \/>\nmodel of village development for replication and trainings\u201d.<br \/>\n<strong>Introduction<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Village Adoption survey provides students an opportunity to<br \/>\nunderstand the factors that are responsible for under-development<br \/>\nin a village, despite plethora of programmes \/ schemes in vogue.<br \/>\nObjectives of NSS CLUB<br \/>\n\uf0b7 To inspire the rural communities to dream, plan, mobilize<br \/>\nforces and resources for sustainable development of each<br \/>\nmember who can realize his\/her full potential and create such<br \/>\necosystem for positive behavioral transformation.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 To seek positive transformation and to engender progressive<br \/>\nchanges in the communities through alternative development<br \/>\nmodels that is participatory, sustainable and inclusive.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 To empower marginalized and vulnerable groups in the village<br \/>\nparticularly the elderly, the women, the youth and the children<br \/>\nof the community.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Availability and accessibility of basic amenities and services<br \/>\nand achieving Sustainable Development Goals.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 To generate awareness on gender issues and social issues like<br \/>\nliteracy, health &amp; hygiene, sanitation, safe drinking water,<br \/>\nlivelihood options etc.<br \/>\n<strong>Survey of CHEEMASANDRA Village<br \/>\nAreas of Survey done are as follows<\/strong><br \/>\n1. Primary Education<br \/>\n2. Community Health<br \/>\n3. Hygiene<br \/>\n4. Drinking Water<br \/>\n5. Solar Facility<br \/>\n6. Environmental and Other Issues<br \/>\nAs observed by the team visited the Cheemasandra village is not an<br \/>\nunder developed village as noted.<br \/>\nThe primary area where the development has to happen is in the<br \/>\narea of Primary Education.<br \/>\nThe Govt School of Cheemasandra Operates for Nursery to 5th Std,<br \/>\nthe school has a strength of 150 students.<br \/>\nThe Requirements of the school are as follows:-<br \/>\nSl No   Description            Quantity<br \/>\n1      Wooden Benches            40<br \/>\n2      Circular Wooden Tables    20<br \/>\n3      Fans                       6<br \/>\n4      Tube lights               15<br \/>\n5      Bags                      150<br \/>\n6      Shoes                     150<br \/>\n7      First Aid Kit             1<br \/>\n8      Water storage tank        1<br \/>\n9      Taps                      5<br \/>\n10     Water purifier            1<br \/>\nOther Additional Requirements<br \/>\nI. Toilets to be repaired.<br \/>\nII. Artistic Painting for classroom walls.<br \/>\nIII. Repair of the school gate.<br \/>\nIV. Proper fencing for the Transformer installed near the school.<br \/>\nV. The drainage system near the school gate is left open, that<br \/>\narea must be covered with the cement blocks.<br \/>\nVI. Need of adequate supply of stationary for the children.<br \/>\nVII. Educational toys for nursery children who are admitted under<br \/>\n\u201cKALI NALI\u201d scheme.<br \/>\nVIII. Painting of School<br \/>\nThese are the major requirements of the GOVT Primary School<br \/>\nThe Requirements of the Village<br \/>\nI. Replacement of Old RCC electric poles.<br \/>\nII. High Mask Light.<br \/>\nIII. Water Filters must be installed (required no of filters are 3).<br \/>\nIV. Street lights (required no = 50).<br \/>\nV. Solar lights (20).<br \/>\nVI. The Drainage System must be closed using cement blocks.<br \/>\nVII.
