EVENT DESCRIPTION:
Jala Poshan (NGO) invited Green Warriors Club and Green Energy Club (EEE) for a cleanliness drive at the Jakkur Lake. The event started at 7:00 AM on 4th March, 2021. There were 50 volunteers representing our college. Our tasks were as follows:-
- Watering all the plants and trees on either side of the walking tracks.
- Mulching – it is a process to ensure that all bare soil is covered with fresh leaves in order to provide nitrogen to other plants.
- Clearing the pathway and walking tracks from plastic waste and disposing them.
Sanitizers and gloves were provided to every participant and masks were made mandatory. The NGO workers helped us learn about various plants and the benefits of certain planting processes such as mulching and pruning. The whole group spent 3 hours at the lake and completed the task at hand. We winded up at 10:00 AM and the NGO provided breakfast and refreshments to all the volunteers.
