Initium 2025 – The Pensieve Paint-off

EVENT: THE PENSIEVE PAINT-OFF

– Date: 16-06-2025

– Venue: NHCE, Umbrella Canteen

– Coordinators: Srinidhi and Tanvi

The Art Club hosted The Pensieve Paint-off as part of INITIUM’25, offering a truly unique twist on traditional art challenges. This wasn’t just about painting—it was about memory, communication, and trust. Participants worked in pairs: one as The Seer, who briefly glimpsed a reference image, and the other as The Artist, tasked with recreating that image using only verbal descriptions.

What made The Pensieve Paint-off truly special was its fusion of art and teamwork. With no direct reference to look at, artists relied entirely on their partner’s words, testing both imagination and clarity. From complex patterns to whimsical shapes, each team’s final artwork reflected not just artistic skill but also the strength of their connection and shared vision.

The event wasn’t just about accuracy—it was about creativity under constraint. Artists experimented with composition, color, and form to bring their partner’s descriptions to life. The room was filled with focused whispers, careful brushstrokes, and the occasional laugh as participants embraced the fun and challenge of painting without seeing.

By the end of the event, The Pensieve Paint-off left behind more than just beautiful artworks—it created lasting memories of teamwork, creativity, and the magic of shared imagination. It was a true celebration of artistic expression, communication, and trust in one another.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all participants for their remarkable creativity and teamwork, and thank everyone who helped make The Pensieve Paint-off a standout event at INITIUM’25.

MovieCon 2025 – CineInk

EVENT: CINEINK

– Date: 17-04-2025

– Time: 02:00 – 04:00PM

– Venue: NHCE, Umbrella Canteen

– Coordinator: Shreya R Varur

The Art Club proudly hosted CineInk: Face Painting Challenge during MovieCon 2025, blending creativity with a love for cinema. The event invited participants to test both their movie knowledge and artistic flair. Each participant first answered a movie-related question: a correct answer allowed them to choose their own face paint design, while an incorrect one led organizer to assign a character from classic cinema, superheroes, horror icons, fantasy worlds, or Bollywood and regional cinema.

CineInk brought together vibrant energy, color, and imagination. From the haunting details of horror characters like Pennywise and Joker to the graceful touches inspired by Bollywood classics, participants truly embodied their chosen or assigned personas. The event space transformed into a living gallery of cinematic artistry, with each face telling its own visual story.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and was marked by originality, precision, and expressive character portrayals. Judges were impressed by the creativity on display, and participants showcased discipline by adhering to the rules—bringing their own materials and completing their artwork within the time limit.

The Art Club extends sincere gratitude to all participants, judges, volunteers, and supporters who contributed to the success of CineInk. Your creativity and spirit made this event truly special. E-certificates have been awarded to all participants in appreciation of their talent and enthusiasm.

We look forward to bringing more such artistic experiences in future editions of MovieCon!

Art and fashion collided in the best possible way at Sneaker Doodle, a solo painting event where creativity took center stage. The idea was simple yet exciting: participants brought their own white sneakers and turned them into wearable works of art. With no theme to follow, the event was all about embracing individuality and letting imaginations run wild.

The results were nothing short of amazing. Each pair of sneakers reflected a unique vision, with some sporting bold, colorful designs and others featuring intricate patterns or quirky illustrations. The room was buzzing with energy as participants transformed ordinary shoes into extraordinary masterpieces, one brushstroke at a time.

Sneaker Doodle was as much about the experience as it was about the art. The event space was alive with laughter and excitement as participants got to work on their shoes. Without a theme to guide them, the possibilities were endless, and each artist embraced that freedom in their own way.

Some went for bold, eye-catching patterns, while others opted for delicate designs that drew you in with their intricate details. Every now and then, you’d hear a burst of laughter or someone proudly showing off their progress, and it was clear that the event was more than just a competition—it was a celebration of creativity and self-expression.

By the end of the day, the sneakers told a hundred different stories. Whether it was a pair painted with vibrant abstract designs or shoes adorned with tiny, intricate illustrations, every creation was one-of-a-kind. Seeing the pride and excitement on the participants’ faces as they showcased their finished work was truly the highlight of the event.
