At the very first an introduction speech was given by the alumni Ms. Jyoshna Gupta and addressed with a warm welcome speech. Later the session was handed over to Mr. Chand Yogi who was the yoga instructor for the day and he had instructed all of us through an online platform (G-meet). Mr. Yogi enlightened us how Yoga therapy increases the number of insulin receptors and increases the proportion of receptor binding in patients with diabetes It improves insulin kinetics by reducing fasting insulin levels, shifting the peak insulin level to the left, and by normalizing the insulin-to-glucose ratio. Then all the audience practiced various asanas as instructed by Mr. Yogi. Later then, the session was taken over by Mr. Thatha where he threw light upon various ways of managing diabetes through exercising, proper diet etc.
Talking about the diet the major four diet plans what Mr. Thatha spoke about were:
1.Intake of fibers in the large amount
2.Reduce the amount of sugar in any form, skip sugary drinks
3.Yoga and Meditation
One can effectively manage their diabetes by managing their diet as above mentioned and by proper exercising and how an individual suffering from diabetes can manage to reduce their medication to an extent just by practicing these healthy habits.
