By the end of the event, the students will have greater retention and memorization of facts and knowledge.

A DAY OF GIVING

The next event we conducted was ”A DAY OF GIVING” on 12th May, 2023. A social service-based event that helped members to interact with children from an orphanage. 6 students from our club have visited the orphanage and spent quality time there. First, we asked the children to introduce themselves and tell rhymes. Then we asked them about their interests such as hobbies, what their ambition is, etc. Lastly, we asked them to perform what they are best at. For example, children sang and danced.

On 13th December, 2023 the TechForge Club of New Horizon College of engineering (Computer engineering
department) organized a treasure hunt that proved to be a challenge for the participating students.
The hunt seamlessly integrated principles of science, critical thinking and technology, requiring participants to
apply their academic knowledge in creative ways. The students were asked to pick chits that had riddles. Once they
solved these riddles, they had the next location. Further, it led them back to where they started, the classroom. The
final round was a rapid fire round between the first 5 teams to come back to class and the winning team was selected
from this.
The treasure hunt provided a unique opportunity for students to showcase their engineering prowess outside the
classroom, blending learning with a thrilling adventure that left them with a newfound appreciation for teamwork
and problem-solving in their field of study.

Volunteering in an orphanage can be a transformative experience, fostering personal growth by cultivating empathy, compassion, and new skills like communication and teamwork. Volunteers often form meaningful relationships with the children and staff, providing emotional support and positive role models. This interaction positively impacts the children’s self-esteem, social skills, and overall well-being. Additionally, volunteering offers a unique cultural exchange, exposing volunteers to different customs and traditions. By raising awareness about the needs of orphaned children, volunteers inspire others to get involved. Many find deep satisfaction in knowing they’re making a tangible difference in the lives of these vulnerable children.
