Code Craft: Arduino Workshop and Battle<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Description of the Event<\/strong>: On the 14th<\/sup> of December 2023, the Emsys Nex Gen Club at New Horizon College of Engineering hosted CodeCraft. An Arduino workshop and battle. Over 130 students from various branches enrolled, showcasing their enthusiasm and intellectual talent. The event comprised of two engaging rounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ROUND 1<\/strong> : Pixel Perfect was a tech image recall challenge. Students were shown numerous pictures of technology and related hardware. They were given some time to view the images and then were tested on their memory. It consisted of 5 levels of varying difficulty. The scores were tallied up and 10 victorious teams were picked. The victorious teams moved on to the next round.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

ROUND 2<\/strong>: Circuit Conquerors: Arduino Workshop and Competition. Students were enlightened on the basics of Arduino and were given a hands-on experience with Arduino projects. A competition based on these basics was then held. The students immersed themselves in the competition and keenly applied their newly gained knowledge. The event concluded on a high note, with thrilling gifts awarded to the winners.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Drone Race<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Total Number of Participants: 11 Teams<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nature of the Event<\/strong>: FPV Drone Race <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Description of the Event<\/strong>: On the 25th<\/sup> of January 2024, the Emsys Nex Gen Club at New Horizon College of Engineering hosted Drone Race, which unfolded as a thrilling spectacle Over 11 Teams from various colleges enrolled, showcasing their enthusiasm and intellectual talent. The pilots had a maximum of two attempts allowed, and faced the challenge of completing the circuit without avoiding any hurdles. The best score from these attempts was considered the official score for the round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The time allotted for each round was capped at 5 minutes, as drones weaved through gaps to complete the circuit. The team completing the round in the minimum time with the maximum points emerged as the winner of the competition. Drones had to adhere to specific dimensions, battery requirements, and prop size limitations. Analog and digital configurations were both allowed. Pilots were required to arrive with their complete setup one hour before the official race time and be ready to fly 30 minutes before the race. The race format was carefully structured, with qualifiers dividing participants into two groups. The top 3 teams from each group advanced to the semi-finals, and the final round followed a “Chase the Ace” format.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

This format, combined with a points system, determined the winners, fostering competition and strategic racing. Out of 11 qualifying teams 4 teams made it to final round where 3 teams secured 1st<\/sup>, 2nd<\/sup>, and 3rd<\/sup> place. The Drone Race not only showcased the technical prowess of participants but also highlighted the dynamic nature of drone technology. The event was a testament to the intersection of innovation, precision, and competition in the ever-evolving world of autonomous flying machines. As drones soared through the air, the race became a celebration of skill, pushing the limits of technology and leaving participants and spectators alike in awe of the possibilities in the realm of drone racing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Career Odyssey<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nature of the Event<\/strong>:  Seminar and Treasure hunt<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Description of the Event<\/strong>: On the 14th of May 2024, the Emsys Nex Gen Club at New Horizon College of Engineering hosted \u201cCareer
Odyssey\u201d. Over 160 students from various branches and all years enrolled, showcasing their enthusiasm and unwavering thirst for knowledge. The event consisted of an insightful seminar and an interactive treasure hunt.
The seminar was delivered by Ms. Himanshi Sehgal, a Software Development Engineer at Walmart. She began by sharing her college experiences, including not getting placed and the worries it brought. She discussed overcoming these worries by gaining real-world technical experience, which ultimately benefitted her. Her talk emphasized the importance of internships, handling failure, and areas for student improvement. She stressed continuous learning and practice. Ms. Sehgal concluded by sharing valuable platforms and resources she uses. Students also had the chance to ask questions and receive personal advice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the educational seminar, students were invited to take part in a treasure hunt. The treasure hunt deviated
from the usual rules, adding a creative modern twist. The event consisted of 4 rounds starting off with students
being given general brain teasing aptitude questions. They were given a time limit and were judged on speed and
accuracy. As the rounds progressed, the complexity of the questions were increased. Ten teams qualified and
made it to the final round.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

In the final round, Students were given a riddle and a QR code to scan. The QR code took them to famous
locations throughout the college. Participants followed the digital trail across campus, sorting amongst fake codes
to find the real ones. They were finally led to the last location which was common for all teams. The first three
teams to decode the trail and reach the final destination were declared the winners and were given exciting
certificates.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

STUDENT OF THE YEAR<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Description of the Event<\/strong>:

The “Student of the Year” competition, organized by the Emsys Nex Gen
club, HealthXcel, BIT, and the Cyber Security and Ethical Hacking (CSEH)
club, showcased a series of innovative and engaging events designed to
test participants’ technical, creative, and athletic abilities. The competition
began with the Tech Wordle challenge, where 350 participants formed 85
teams <\/strong>to decode tech-related words, followed by the Mafia game of deception
and deduction. Advancing teams then participated in MadAds, creating humorous
and effective health product advertisements. The culmination of the competition,
SHOWDOWN, featured athletic challenges like throwball, basketball poison, and table
tennis, testing both physical and mental prowess. This diverse series of events not
only entertained and educated participants but also fostered creativity, teamwork,
and sportsmanship, ultimately determining the prestigious Student of the Year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tech Wordle competition, organized by Emsys Nex Gen Club,
featured 350 participants in 85 teams, focusing on tech-related words. Unlike traditional Wordle, it challenged contestants to guess five-letter tech terms within six tries, with instant feedback: green for correct letters in the right position, yellow for correct letters in the wrong position, and black for incorrect letters. Teams were evaluated on accuracy and speed, with systematic eliminations. Non-qualifying teams enjoyed creative tasks, fostering camaraderie. The event educated participants on new tech terms and concepts, sparking curiosity and discussions. Combining competition with learning, Tech Wordle highlighted gamified learning’s potential in making
complex subjects engaging and enjoyable.

Round 2- Mafia<\/strong>

Description: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mafia is a game of deception with roles like Mafia, Townspeople, Doctor, and Detective. It alternates between Night, where the Mafia choose a victim, the Doctor saves someone, and the Detective investigates, and Day, where players discuss and vote to eliminate suspects. The game ends when the Mafia outnumber the Townspeople.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each round involves 12 players: 2 Mafias, 2 Detectives, 1 Doctor, and the rest Townspeople. At night, the Mafia pick a victim, the Doctor saves someone, and the Detectives investigate. During the day, deaths and saves are announced, and players vote to eliminate suspects. The game continues until both Mafias are found or both Detectives are dead. Teams with the highest points after 5 rounds advance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At HealthXcel, we integrate health with AI, empowering Computer
Science students to innovate. Our latest event, MadAds, infused fun
and creativity into our usual technical focus. Teams from our “Student of
the Year” competition crafted humorous ads for health products like
sunscreen and painkillers. Judged on humor, originality, creativity, visual appeal,
storytelling, and time management, teams showcased their blend of technical
and creative skills. MadAds fostered community and highlighted the students’
ability to reimagine health topics with innovation and collaboration.

Spectators witnessed intense competition as contestants vied for victory, narrowing down to one ultimate winner by day’s end. SHOWDOWN highlighted athleticism, mental strength, and sportsmanship, culminating in the crowning of the Student of the Year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
