The New Horizon Public School (ICSE) consists of a Pre-primary section which follows an innovative curriculum that encourages learning through activity, play and first hand experience. Combining the concepts of the Montessori method and the play way method, this system helps the child learn and grow at his or her own pace. Experimental learning is provided by regularly organising field trips.

An activity room enables self-directed learning and allows the children to be independent of the teacher. The room is specially designed and equipped to promote muscular and motor co-ordination of the children. In addition, students are encouraged to read newspapers and magazines at school to improve general awareness. The last working day of each month is the ‘Toy Corner day’. Each child brings a toy from home thereby inculcating the habit of sharing through playing. At a higher level, learning takes place through an interactive approach, discussion, observation and experimentation. Learning through project work is another dimension in this process.

Right from the lower level, the teacher makes use of technology in her day to day teaching like the overhead projector, video projector, television, tape-recorder, CD player etc. The child is introduced to computers in the early years to enable him or her to develop skills that will prove vital in future. Computer education is offered to students from Standard I onwards.
