New Horizon College of Engineering hosted the Diwali celebration on campus on the stage near the CSE block which was a grand event with various cultural events like dance, music, drama etc. This was the first official event post the lockdown of almost 1.5 years and was held on 27/10/2021 from 3:30 pm.

The dance club presented 3 dances for this event. The first dance was a
Bharatanatyam dance which was performed as an invocation for the event. This dance was performed by 3 classical dancers and the duration of the dance was 3 mins approx. and this dance received a standing ovation by the chairman.

The second dance was a folk dance which represented happiness and celebration. There were 11 dancers in total for this dance and was performed with at most joy by the dance club.

The third dance was the final dance by the NHCE Dance club. This dance was a combination of 2 dances. The first dance form being Kathak which demonstrated the story of Diwali as to how Lord Ram defeated Ravana and saved Sita. This part of the dance ended by depicting how Lord Ram, his wife Sita Devi and his brother
Lord Lakshman a returned to their homeland after 14 years of exile.


The next dance was a celebrating dance in connection with the previous scenario. The dance was a Garba dance form. The final dance was a grand event were all the dancers joined the stage and performed different dance forms such as Locking and Popping, Whacking, Kathak, Classical, Bollywood, Bhangra. This event was a success and received a standing ovation from chairman and his family. We were asked to perform this dance once again and it was an overwhelming experience
for everyone who was a part of it.
